We are at a pivotal moment, evolving into a product-led company with a team of over 100 skilled professionals and new leadership guiding our path forward. By harnessing the power of data, advancing our AI capabilities, and deeply investing in our people, we are preparing for a future that will redefine what’s possible in journey advertising.
Our work is guided by two beliefs: that the ability to execute is paramount to success and that we are only as good as our people. As we grow and transform, we are looking for team members (illumineers) who share our bias for speed, delivery over perfection, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Joining us now is a chance to be part of our transformation.
Who we need
Reporting to the CFO, we are hiring a Financial Controller for a 12-month contract to cover a maternity leave. As our new Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of a new accounting ERP system. As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will lead daily accounting activities, manage period-end close processes, and ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial information across the organization. You will oversee a team of five direct reports, providing hands-on leadership, coaching, and direction to maintain strong processes, controls, and operational discipline in a fast-paced, public company environment.
This is an existing, full-time hybrid opportunity, with on-site work on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our downtown Toronto office. Our headquarters are located within minutes of St. Andrew and Union subway stations.
What's in it for you
Peer-level leadership and ownership. You want to operate as a senior finance leader with real accountability. In this role, you will partner closely with the CFO and work alongside the Director of Finance as a peer, owning the integrity, accuracy, and execution of the company’s accounting and reporting function in a public, high-growth environment.
Depth, complexity, and impact. You are energized by hands-on leadership and technical challenges. You will have clear ownership of period-end close, IFRS-based financial reporting, revenue recognition, lease accounting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, ensuring timely, reliable, and audit-ready financial information.
A ready-now next step with meaningful change. Whether you are an experienced Controller or a Senior Manager ready to step up, this role offers full accountability, team leadership, and the opportunity to lead meaningful change, including the implementation of a new accounting ERP system to modernize processes and support scalability.

- Oversee accounting operations. Provide oversight of day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related functions, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Lead ERP implementation. Manage the implementation of a new accounting ERP system, guiding the migration from the existing platform, optimizing processes, and supporting the team through change.
- Account for complex transactions. Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for complex areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other technical accounting matters.
- Deliver financial reporting. Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders, providing clear, reliable insight into the company’s financial position and performance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance. Oversee compliance with tax filings, statutory reporting, and audit requirements, partnering with external auditors and advisors to address findings and recommendations.
- Strengthen internal controls. Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks to safeguard the integrity and reliability of financial reporting, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop the team. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of five direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Support broader finance initiatives. Contribute to ad hoc financial and accounting initiatives in support of the CFO and the broader finance leadership team.
What you bring:
- The credentials. You hold a university degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance and have earned a CA or CPA designation. Big Four public accounting firm experience is preferred.
- The experience. You bring progressive accounting experience with demonstrated responsibility for managing day-to-day accounting operations. You have led or supported strong internal control environments and are comfortable identifying, addressing, and improving gaps in processes and governance.
- The knowledge. You have strong technical expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards and a solid understanding of public company reporting and regulatory requirements. Exposure to both Canadian and U.S. public companies is considered an asset, as is experience with tax matters.
- The interpersonal skills. You are a clear, confident communicator and collaborative leader. You think critically, analyze complex information effectively, and build trusting relationships across teams. You influence without authority, lead with integrity, and bring a high level of discretion, accountability, and professionalism to your work.
