Who we are

At illumin, we are transforming the advertising landscape. Our platform offers an integrated space for journey planning, execution, and reporting. It empowers marketers to connect with their audiences in powerful ways through real-time data and easy-to-use visual tools. By seamlessly combining media planning and buying in an intuitive interface, marketers can take complete control of their campaigns, meeting customers wherever they are in the buying journey and maximizing the impact of their ad spend through personalized insights for smarter decision-making.

We are at a pivotal moment, evolving into a product-led company with a team of over 100 skilled professionals and new leadership guiding our path forward. By harnessing the power of data, advancing our AI capabilities, and deeply investing in our people, we are preparing for a future that will redefine what’s possible in journey advertising.

Our work is guided by two beliefs: that the ability to execute is paramount to success and that we are only as good as our people. As we grow and transform, we are looking for team members (illumineers) who share our bias for speed, delivery over perfection, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Joining us now is a chance to be part of our transformation.

Who we need

Reporting to the COO, we are hiring a Director of Product to lead our Product Management and Product Design teams and help shape the future direction of the illumin platform. As our new Senior Director, Product, you will build on a strong operational foundation while bringing the industry insight, strategic thinking, and market perspective needed to guide our product vision in a rapidly evolving advertising technology landscape.

This is a hybrid opportunity, working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on-site in our downtown Toronto office. Our headquarters are located within minutes of St. Andrew and Union subway stations.

What's in it for you

A platform at an inflection point. We have established a differentiated position in the market and are continuing to invest heavily in product innovation, AI capabilities, and future growth. You will join at a time when the foundation is in place and many of the most important product decisions still lie ahead, with the opportunity to help shape how the platform evolves and creates value for marketers.

An opportunity to build, not maintain. This is not a role focused on incremental improvements to an established roadmap. You will influence how the platform evolves, identify new opportunities for growth, and help define what success looks like in the next chapter of our business.

A leadership role with business impact. Reporting to the COO and partnering closely with executive leadership, you will have the opportunity to influence decisions that extend beyond Product. From strategic partnerships and platform investments to market positioning and growth opportunities, your perspective will help shape the future of the business as well as the product.

How you will make an impact:

  • Define the future direction of the platform. You will develop and evolve the product vision, identifying market opportunities, emerging technologies, customer needs, and industry trends that influence product strategy and roadmap priorities. You will help answer not only what we build next, but why.
  • Lead and develop the Product organization. You will coach and support a team of Product Managers and Product Designers, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will strengthen product practices, support professional growth, and ensure teams remain focused on delivering meaningful customer outcomes.
  • Drive product strategy and roadmap execution. You will oversee product planning, prioritization, and investment decisions, balancing customer needs, business objectives, technical considerations, and market opportunities. Working closely with Engineering and Design, you will ensure product initiatives deliver measurable value for customers and the business.
  • Stay connected to the market. You will build relationships with customers, partners, and industry leaders to maintain a deep understanding of the evolving advertising technology landscape. You will represent illumin at industry events, gather market insights, and use those learnings to inform product decisions and long-term strategy.
  • Expand platform capabilities and partnerships. You will evaluate and develop strategic partnerships across data, identity, measurement, AI, media, and technology ecosystems. You will identify opportunities to extend platform capabilities through integrations, APIs, and partnerships that strengthen our market position and create customer value.
  • Partner across the business. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, and executive leadership to align product investments with business goals, support strategic customer opportunities, and ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in product decisions.

What you bring:

  • The product leadership experience. You have experience leading Product Managers and cross-functional product teams within a B2B SaaS or technology environment. You know how to balance long-term strategy with execution, building strong teams, establishing clear priorities, and ensuring product investments deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.
  • The AdTech expertise. You understand the advertising technology ecosystem and the workflows that power digital advertising. Whether your experience comes from DSPs, SSPs, retail media, measurement, identity, data platforms, or adjacent marketing technologies, you bring the industry knowledge needed to understand customer challenges, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
  • The strategic product mindset. You are energized by understanding where the market is heading and what customers will need next. You can assess industry trends, evaluate emerging technologies, identify opportunities, and translate insights into product strategy, roadmap priorities, and platform capabilities. You are as comfortable discussing the future direction of the industry as you are making decisions about the future direction of the product.
  • The market perspective. You stay connected to customers, competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies. You enjoy engaging with the market, attending industry events, and bringing new ideas back to the business. You are naturally curious and continuously looking for ways to strengthen product differentiation and customer value.
  • The partnership and commercial acumen. You understand that successful products are built within broader ecosystems. You have experience evaluating partnership opportunities, developing business cases, and collaborating across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to deliver solutions that create value for customers and the business.
  • The communication and influence skills. You can communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently to a range of audiences. Whether presenting product strategy to executive leadership, discussing opportunities with customers and partners, or aligning teams around priorities, you know how to build trust, influence decisions, and create alignment.
